Vocational Education and Training & Workplace Learning
It was our Upper School Students this term that had the privilege of going to Skill Hire in Kewdale to participate in the Try-A-Trade course in Bricklaying.
We also had our Post School Information Evening on the 17 August. Best one to date. We had our usual agencies there plus more. We hope all those that attended were able to take away something new.
Our Year 10 students commenced their journey into the Work Place Learning Program. Some in supported workplaces and some on independent work sites. All students have proved to be very mature and responsible out at work – representing our school in a terrific manner.
We are very fortunate to have terrific businesses supporting our Work Place Learning Program with a couple of new industries coming on board. Linfox in Hazelmere are hosting 3 year 12 students 1 day a week and TRP Ductwork in Maddington are supporting a year 10 student – both different and very busy warehouses.
Upper School Students are out in the work force in a variety of places. Some students are independent and are out of school 2 to 3 days a week - well and truly set on their career path.
A BIG THANK YOU also to the families who have helped promote our program to their employers to encourage them to be supportive in the community. Please remember if you know anyone with any connections to industry and employment that would like to support our program, please let me know always on the lookout!
Term 3 saw the students at Activ Bentley complete their Certificate I in Manufacturing – Congratulations to those students for all their hard work.
Hoping all students are looking forward to a busy 4th Term out at work and completing their Certificate Courses.
